GUILT

Hesitating to take a step forward.

 

The pain in the chest, 

That seems to be ignited

Every time we are reminded of the past, 

Every mistake, every missed opportunity.

 

A feeling so strong, 

It could turn our lives around, 

Steer us away from steep hills 

Or down the same path."

Lost Voices

 

"Lost and lonely, 

At 18, I feel so lost, 

Wandering in a world of concrete, 

Trying so hard to breathe, 

Only to end up inhaling smoke.

 

Surrounded by many, 

Yet feeling the gnawing loneliness, 

As I smile and cheer, 

But feel hollow inside.

 

Sometimes I wonder, 

Have I reached my end, 

Or is it just my mind, 

Playing games with me?

 

I have so much to say, 

But keep shutting down, 

Scared of being silenced, 

Scared of being alone."
